Requires minimal energy to charge: Can be charged from intermittent energy sources such as solar, wind, hydro, or even fossil fuel generators.

Its 3000 W heat storage capacity can provide up to 8 hours of useful heat.

Stays hot for up to 2 days thanks to ecological thermal insulation using natural materials.
Power banks and charging stations have become must-have devices for every family as they go through blackouts, but unfortunately, there is no way to store heat to use later when needed. Until now.

A convection heater with a built-in thermal power bank

Heating a home is a major issue, especially when power cuts exist as most heating systems depend very much on electricity.
Heat is essential for a high quality of life, and even such basic needs like warming, washing, and cooking are quickly becoming a luxury in places without heat access.

The Concept

Sand Battery heated up to 320°C (608°F) using low power electrical heater.

100% natural insulation keeps the core hot for up to 2 days.

Convection heater works naturally, only when the control lid is open.

The Swiss Furnace Heat Powerbank
The Swiss Furnace
The principle is similar to commonly used electric water boilers, but only it uses sand instead of water. Sand, enclosed in thermal insulation, is heated to 350 C° by electricity — when it is available — and stores the heat needed to heat up a room. A full "charge" takes 4 hours, and the bank can store heat for up to 2 days.

One full charge can provide up to 3 kW of thermal storage, which can provide up to 10 hours of useful heat

The Swiss Furnace can also be used to cook food or boil water while it is warming the room.

The Swiss Furnace power bank keeps households warm even in the absence of electricity. Additionally there are many other potential off-the-grid applications.

An electric heating element runs inside the sand to charge it up to the set point by storing heat for long periods of time with proper thermal insulation.

Once the heat is released as result of natural convection, it keeps distributing consistent heat into the surrounding room even in absence of electricity to charge the unit.
